Whales watching in Zihuatanejo
Whales watching is a one in a life time experience, and if you can go, please don’t hesitate, I guarantee you won’t regret it and you will have a memory that will last forever.
Starting 2019 Ixtapa Zihuatanejo has been declared a place for whale watching. In previous years, there were increasingly whales coming to this area, but not enough to declare it as a place where you can go for this. At this amazing natures show you can see the humpback whale, one of the biggest whales.
The humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) is a species of baleen whale. It is one of the larger rorqual species, with adults ranging in length from 12–16 m (39–52 ft) and weighing around 25–30 metric tons (28–33 short tons)
When is the watching season?
The best time to see this, is from December to March, and you are going to be able to see also dolphins, stingrays and turtles
The best places in the world for whale watching is: Vancouver Island, Iceland, Dominica, Baja California Mx, Colombia, Scotland, and Western Cape, Sri Lanka.
Great news, as now you don’t need to go to Iceland, or any cold place to watch this. Even Baja California is not warm enough and especially not as warm as Zihuatanejo, considering the whale watching season is on the coldest months of the year. Iif you haven’t been at Baja, Cabos or La Paz, it must be on your bucket list.
I been lucky enough to watch the whales in Baja California, and believe me it is spectacular, its something you tell your grandkids about.
